Lynda Kusuma (USA)

By September 14, 2020Gallery 2020

Lynda Kusuma uses art as a vehicle to explore the human connection to the natural world. The patterns, lines, shapes, and textures defining our environment have become a primary basis for her work, drawing attention to parallels between natural and man-made objects. Her intaglio prints highlight less obvious relationships into a seamless composition to force a visual comparison. Kusuma received a BFA in Design from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1986 and worked as a design consultant for several years before returning to school to become certified to teach young children. After several years of teaching she once again returned to school to follow her interest in horticultural science and the arts, which led to a MFA 2018 in printmaking from the Academy of Art in San Francisco. Her work has been exhibited at the Academy of Art Spring Show in 2016, 2017, and 2018; The Orlando Museum of Art First Thursdays; SOBO Gallery, Winter Garden Florida; Hyatt Regency, Orlando Florida; The Southwest Orlando Library, The Printed Image 7 at the Alice C. Sabatini Gallery, Topeka Kansas, Standout Prints at The Highpoint Center, and In the Fields Botanical Lore, Benicia California. She currently runs a printmaking studio in Florida.
